Necaxa vs FC Juarez

Necaxa host FC Juárez at the Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes on Friday 23 October at 19:00 (Mexico City time) in Matchday 14 of the Apertura 2026.

Los Rayos are 17th with nine points, while Juárez sit 18th and last on four, both after 13 games.

Match preview

Necaxa arrive in poor form. They lost 1-0 to Chivas on Wednesday and 2-0 at home to Atlas on Saturday 17 October, failing to score in either game.

They have won none of their last five league matches, with one draw and four defeats, scoring six and conceding 13. The draw was a 3-3 at Pachuca, and before that they lost 4-2 to América and 3-1 at San Luis.

The Victoria has not been a fortress. Los Rayos have two wins and five defeats from seven home games, scoring eight and conceding 14.

Overall they have 15 goals for and 26 against, a goal difference of -11. Julián Carranza is the main source of goals with seven.

Juárez are in no better shape. They lost 1-0 at home to Atlante on Wednesday and 5-0 away to Cruz Azul on Saturday 18 October, so they have gone two games without a goal.

Before that they drew 1-1 with Tijuana, lost 2-1 at León and beat Tigres 2-0 on 19 September. That is their only win in 13 league games.

Away from home, Los Bravos have lost all six, scoring three and conceding 20. Their home record is hardly better, with one win, one draw and five defeats. In total they have shipped 32 goals, a difference of -24. Estupiñán leads the side with six.

The head-to-head favours Necaxa. They have not lost to Juárez in the last five league meetings, winning two and drawing three.

The latest was a 2-1 win for Los Rayos at Juárez on 15 February. Before that came a 1-1 draw in Aguascalientes in September 2025, a 2-2 in April 2025, a 3-0 Necaxa win in August 2024 and a 2-2 in February 2024.

This is a meeting between the bottom two. Pachuca, 16th, have 13 points, four more than Necaxa, so three points matter a great deal to both sides.

Team news

Our data show no injured or suspended players at either club. Squawka also reports no new absentees at Necaxa, who have Carranza, with seven goals in 907 minutes, and Matías Espíndola, with two goals and 15 chances created.

Necaxa must fix a defence that has conceded 13 goals in its last five matches. Juárez let in nine over the same stretch and must decide how much to change after two defeats without scoring. Estupiñán remains their chief threat.

Both teams played on Wednesday 21 October, so rest is equal. We could not find confirmed line-ups, so check them before kick-off.

We say
Necaxa2 - 1Juárez

Necaxa have the recent head-to-head on their side, unbeaten against Juárez in five meetings, and face a team yet to win away from home. Their defence leaks goals and Estupiñán can exploit that. We expect an open game, with goals at both ends and a slight edge for the hosts.
