Match preview
Celta are eighth on 11 points with a goal difference of +3 after nine matches. They arrive in good spirits having won their last two games, one in the league and one in Europe.
On Thursday they won 2-1 at Celtic in the Europa League, with Javi Rodriguez scoring twice. Before that they beat Alaves 2-1 at Balaidos, having lost 1-2 to Juventus in the same European competition.
At home, Claudio Giraldez's side have won two, drawn one and lost two, scoring nine and conceding six. Their best recent result at Balaidos is the 5-0 win over Racing Santander on 19 September.
On the road they have drawn all four matches, scoring one goal and conceding one. They are hard to beat but struggle for goals, as in the 0-0 draw at Elche on 11 October.
Betis are fourth on 19 points with a goal difference of +2, sitting in the Champions League places. At home they have won four and lost one, scoring 10 and conceding seven.
Away from home they have won two, drawn one and lost one, with six goals scored and seven conceded. They have shipped nine goals in their last four official matches.
Manuel Pellegrini's side lost 5-2 to Barcelona on 17 October. They responded in the Champions League with a 1-0 win over Feyenoord thanks to an Isco penalty, taking nine points from nine in their first three games. Before that they beat Porto 3-2 and Osasuna 5-2.
The last five LaLiga meetings produced three draws, one Celta win (3-2 in February 2025) and one Betis win (2-1 in April 2024). The two most recent ended 1-1, the latest on 15 March 2026 in Seville. Both teams scored in all five.
Balaidos has not been kind to Pellegrini's Betis either. In their last seven visits they lost three, drew three and won only in 2020-21. Both teams arrive with European fatigue and rotation is expected.

Team news
Celta have five confirmed absentees: Borja Iglesias, Alvaro Nunez, Carl Starfelt, Miguel Roman and Jones El Abdellaoui. Iglesias is recovering from a left soleus injury and Nunez has a groin problem. Pablo Duran returned in Glasgow and gives Giraldez another attacking option.
Giraldez is expected to rotate after the trip to Scotland. Ionut Radu has a clear advantage in goal, while Yoel Lago, who rested entirely in Glasgow, is in contention to return in defence.
Betis are without Cucho Hernandez, who is out for around a month, and Junior Firpo, who is still recovering from an adductor injury. Facundo Bernal is suspended for four matches after his red card against Barcelona, although the club have announced an appeal. Iker Losada is a doubt.
Pellegrini will also rotate. Dani Ceballos and Giovani Lo Celso look set to start, while Angel Ortiz and Valentin Gomez could come in at full-back.
We think this will finish 1-1. Both sides arrive with European fatigue, both will rotate and three of the last five meetings ended level. Celta score at home (nine goals in five games) and Betis also score away (six in four), but the absences of Borja Iglesias and Cucho Hernandez limit the attacking options of each.
