Match preview
The Jets are 2-4 and coming off a defeat. They lost 26-19 at New England in Week 6, their first divisional game of the year, and are 0-1 in the AFC East.
They had beaten the Browns 17-12 at home before that. Losses to the Bears (23-12), Lions (31-24) and Packers (20-17) came earlier. That is four defeats in their last five games.
The offense averages 18.7 points per game (112 in six) and the defense allows 20.3 (122). Three of those four recent losses were by seven points or fewer.
At home the Jets are 1-1, beating Cleveland and falling to Green Bay. On the road they are 1-3. Their run defense is a soft spot, giving up 123 rushing yards per game according to Miami Dolphins On SI.
Miami is 0-5 and ranks last in the league by winning percentage. The Dolphins return from their bye week after a 31-24 home loss to the Bengals, their fifth straight defeat.
Before that they lost 15-10 at Minnesota, 24-10 to Kansas City, 35-13 at San Francisco and 27-13 at Las Vegas. The offense scores 14.0 points per game (70 in five) and the defense concedes 26.4 (132).
Miami is 0-3 on the road and 0-2 at home. Malik Willis leads the attack and Ollie Gordon is the lead back. Rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas missed three games with an ankle injury and is back without a designation.
The recent head-to-head favors the Dolphins, who have won four of the last five meetings. They won 34-10 on December 7, 2025 and 27-21 on September 29 of that year. The Jets' last win in the series was 32-20 on January 5, 2025.
This is a divisional clash between the bottom two teams in the AFC East. The Jets want a second home win. The Dolphins want their first victory of the season.

Injury report
Jets: Friday's report rules out offensive tackle Max Mitchell (concussion), edge rusher Joseph Ossai (ankle) and linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad). Running back Breece Hall (quad, hurt in Week 3 against Detroit), running back Kene Nwangwu (knee) and guard Dylan Parham (knee) are questionable.
Edge rusher Will McDonald IV and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell practiced fully on Friday and carry no designation.
Dolphins: cornerback Reese Taylor (quad) is out and edge rusher Rob Beal Jr. (hamstring) is doubtful. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. (illness) is questionable.
Miami gets Caleb Douglas back, as he came off the report. Tight end Will Kacmarek (hamstring) and quarterback Malik Willis (right thumb) have no designation.
We think the Jets edge it 24-17. They are at home and have the more productive offense, scoring 18.7 points per game to Miami's 14.0. The Dolphins return rested and with Douglas, but their defense concedes 26.4 points and is thinner without Taylor and with Beal doubtful.
