Match preview

Philadelphia is in the worst stretch of its season. The Eagles have lost four straight and sit at 2-4, with a 1-2 record at home.

They fell 25-14 to Carolina, 19-17 to Jacksonville, 24-20 to the Rams and 27-7 to Chicago. Their only win was 24-20 over Tennessee in Week 2. They led at halftime against both Jacksonville and the Rams.

The offense is the core problem. It scores 17.7 points per game and ranks last in the league in yards per play at 4.4. The defense allows 22.8 points per game.

Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve for the rest of 2026, so Tanner McKee runs the offense. Saquon Barkley has 182 yards on 36 carries and is looking to return after missing two games.

Dallas is also 2-4 and arrives on a two-game skid, 23-13 at Green Bay and 24-16 against Tampa Bay. Its wins came 37-20 over Washington and 34-30 at Houston. The Cowboys are 1-2 on the road.

The Dallas offense averages 25.2 points per game, but the defense gives up 26.5. The attack leans on Dak Prescott's arm.

Prescott went 34-for-54 for 258 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Packers. He is second in the NFL with 246 pass attempts, and Dallas passes on 67.5 percent of its plays, the highest rate in the league.

The Dallas defense allows the most yards per play (6.0) and the most rushing yards, 149.8 per game. It has just three takeaways.

Philadelphia has won three of the last five meetings, but Dallas took the most recent one, 24-21 in November 2025. Prescott is 10-5 against the Eagles and has not thrown an interception in 223 passes at the Linc.

This opens a run of three straight division games for Philadelphia. The winner gets back into the NFC East race.

Injury report

Philadelphia will be without wide receivers DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), linebacker Nolan Smith (concussion) and defensive back Michael Carter II (abdomen). The passing game is badly thinned. Tight end Dallas Goedert is cleared for Monday.

Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is questionable, although he practiced fully on Saturday. Jonathan Greenard (ankle) and Jalyx Hunt (knee) are also questionable. Landon Dickerson, Eli Stowers, Grant Calcaterra and Jakorian Bennett are on injured reserve and must be activated Monday to play.

Dallas rules out linebacker Dee Winters (calf), receiver and returner KaVontae Turpin (ribs) and tackle Drew Shelton (hamstring). Marist Liufau (forearm) is questionable.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Cobie Durant return. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and tackle Tyler Guyton are also good to go.

We think Dallas will edge a close one, 23-20. Prescott and the passing game have more answers than a Philadelphia offense missing Smith and Wicks and starting McKee. Barkley against the league's worst run defense should keep the Eagles in it until the end.
