The Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8 of the NFL season at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Sunday, November 1, kicking off at 1pm ET.

The Bucs are 2-5 and third in the NFC South. The Falcons are 3-4 and second.

Tampa Bay (2-5) arrives off a 43-13 rout of the Carolina Panthers in Week 7. It is the Bucs' second win of the year and their first in the division, where they stand 1-0.

Before that, they lost 26-19 to the Steelers and 17-14 to the Packers, both at home, and beat the Cowboys 24-16. They average 23.1 points scored and 21.6 allowed per game.

Home field is the problem. The Bucs are 0-4 at Raymond James Stadium this season and <cite index="16-4">are chasing their first home win</cite>.

The offense runs through the ground game. <cite index="16-5">Tampa Bay piled up 258 rushing yards against Carolina</cite>, and <cite index="12-2">Bucky Irving leads the team with 558 rushing yards and five touchdowns</cite>. The passing game is the concern, as <cite index="12-2">Baker Mayfield has 679 yards in four games</cite>, along with <cite index="15-10">three touchdowns, two interceptions and 13 sacks taken</cite>.

Atlanta (3-4) beat the San Francisco 49ers 29-20 in Week 7, after losses to the Bears (31-23) and Ravens (30-23). Before that, the Falcons beat the Saints 45-24 and the Packers 35-14.

The Falcons score 24.4 points per game and allow 24.7. <cite index="18-8">They have the sixth-ranked rushing offense at 139.9 yards per game, but the 29th-ranked pass defense</cite>. They are 2-1 on the road.

<cite index="18-7">Michael Penix Jr. has 1,157 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception, and Atlanta is 3-2 in his five starts</cite>. <cite index="16-8">Bijan Robinson leads the NFL with 704 rushing yards</cite>, while <cite index="12-2">Jahan Dotson tops the receivers with 616 yards</cite>.

Atlanta has won three of the last five meetings. It prevailed 29-28 on December 11, 2025, and 31-26 in October 2024. Tampa Bay won 23-20 in September 2025 and 29-25 in December 2023.

This is a divisional clash between two teams trying to gain ground in a wide-open NFC South. <cite index="5-3">The Falcons are playing their eighth straight week without a break</cite>. Mayfield also faces his former head coach, Kevin Stefanski, now in charge in Atlanta.

Injury report

Tampa Bay will be without wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, who was <cite index="7-2">ruled out with a foot injury</cite>. <cite index="9-4">Tackle Luke Goedeke (calf) and running back Kenny Gainwell (hip) are questionable</cite>. Goedeke was limited on Friday, while Gainwell practiced in full.

Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (ribs) was listed as questionable early in the week but does not appear on CBS Sports' final report. <cite index="6-10">Mayfield (right thumb) was a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday</cite>.

For Atlanta, <cite index="5-9">running back Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) is out</cite>, and <cite index="5-10">Khalil Herbert is the likely replacement</cite>. <cite index="9-4">Billy Bowman Jr., Beaux Collins, Divine Deablo, Samson Ebukam, Charles Snowden, Avieon Terrell, Cameron Williams and Olamide Zaccheaus are questionable</cite>. <cite index="9-5">Collins and Williams are designated to return from injured reserve</cite>.
