Injury report, prediction and how to watch for Commanders vs Eagles: everything you need to know before the game.

Washington Commanders host Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8 of the NFL on Sunday, November 1, at Northwest Stadium in Landover. Kickoff is at 8:20pm ET (7:20pm Mexico City time).

The Commanders are 1-4-1 and fourth in the NFC East, while the Eagles are 2-5 and third.

Match preview

The Commanders are 1-4-1 coming out of their bye week. They last lost 23-17 to the 49ers in Week 6, and before that they played a 27-27 tie with the Giants. They are on a one-game losing streak.

Washington has scored 132 points in six games, about 22.0 per contest. The defense has allowed 172, close to 28.7 per game, which explains results such as the 30-13 loss to the Colts and the 37-20 defeat in Dallas.

At home the Commanders are 1-1-1, and their only win of the year was a 33-31 victory over the Seahawks in Week 3. On the road they are 0-3. They are still looking for a divisional win at 0-2-1.

The offense is without wide receiver Terry McLaurin and running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt, both on injured reserve. The club plans to lean on Austin Ekeler in the run game. Stefon Diggs was a full participant in practice on Thursday.

The Eagles are in a slump at 2-5 with five straight defeats. They lost 38-21 to the Cowboys on Monday night and 25-14 to the Panthers in Week 6.

Philadelphia has scored 127 points in seven games, about 18.1 per outing, and has conceded 175, or roughly 25.0. Both the 19-17 loss to Jacksonville and the 24-20 loss to the Rams were close.

The Eagles are 1-2 on the road, a better mark than their 1-3 record at home. They are 1-1 in the division. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve and will not be available.

The recent head-to-head favors Philadelphia, which has won three of the last five meetings, including a 24-22 result in Week 1. Washington won 24-17 on January 4 and 36-33 in December 2024. In the January 2025 playoff meeting, the Eagles won 55-23.

This is a divisional clash on NBC's Sunday Night Football. Neither side has won since late September, and both need a victory to stay alive in the NFC East race.

Injury report

Washington has ruled out defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee). Daron Payne (foot) is listed as questionable in the club's report, although NFL.com's roundup lists him as out. Treylon Burks (foot), Jer'Zhan Newton (pectoral) and John Bates (shoulder) are also questionable.

Quarterbacks Jayden Daniels (left elbow) and Marcus Mariota (knee) were full participants on Wednesday and Thursday. Charles Omenihu could return after missing the Week 6 game. McLaurin and Croskey-Merritt remain on injured reserve.

Philadelphia will be without wide receivers DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Britain Covey (knee), linebacker Jihaad Campbell (hamstring/quad) and cornerback Jonathan Jones (hamstring). Cornerback Jakorian Bennett (knee) is questionable and the team must activate him from injured reserve.

Saquon Barkley (back and hamstring) has no game designation and is expected to play. With Campbell out, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. would line up next to Zack Baun.

Our prediction
Commanders24 - 20Eagles
58%Commanders42%Eagles

We think the Commanders edge it 24-20. They are rested, healthier and at home, while the Eagles are missing three receivers and Hurts. Washington's defense has been inconsistent, so Barkley should keep Philadelphia in range, but we expect the home offense to do slightly more.
