Europe's streak breakers! Real Madrid have ended five unbeaten runs in under two months
Inter, Roma, Barcelona, Racing and AEK Athens all arrived on impressive unbeaten runs, and all of them fell to José Mourinho's side.

José Mourinho's Real Madrid seem to have become the executioners of unbeaten teams. In under two months, the club has ended five significant runs in Spain and Europe, with AEK Athens the latest victim.
Madrid beat the Greek side 3-2 in the Champions League thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Federico Valverde, ending a home unbeaten run that dated back to March 2026.
Five runs that ended against Real Madrid
It started on September 8, when Real Madrid beat Inter 2-1 at the Bernabéu on the opening matchday of the Champions League, ending the Italian side's run of roughly six months without defeat.
Next came Roma, unbeaten for about five months. On October 14, Madrid overturned a 3-1 deficit in the closing minutes to win 4-3 at the Stadio Olimpico, with a late winner from Antonio Rüdiger.
Then came one of the biggest blows of the season: Barcelona had gone 17 months without losing a home league game until a Kylian Mbappé brace gave Madrid a 2-1 win in El Clásico.
Racing Santander couldn't hold on to their strength at El Sardinero either: they were unbeaten at home this season until Real Madrid won 3-0. Finally, AEK Athens joined the list after losing 3-2 at their own stadium.
